"Many Injured, More Dead" - Lesetour

Links:

Auszug aus »Many Injured, More Dead«:

The following conversation took place in Kaiserslautern
sometime in the early 80s.
»Are you a skinhead?«
»Yep.«
That »yep« is just one in a long list of dumb things
I’ve said in my life. Not the dumbest, but pretty dumb.
I think the dumbest thing I’ve ever said was, »sure,
I’ll join the army.«
And I did.
I signed the papers when I was 17 and a year later
I was a soldier, stationed in Denver, just a few days
short of flying to Germany. Of course I didn’t know
what I was doing, but by that time it was too late.
My fate was sealed. I was scheduled to fly on the 18th
of September, the exact same day that Black Flag was
scheduled to play in Denver.
So I missed my flight.
